3rd Series / 1979 — 1983
The 3rd Series was issued to mark Malta’s new status of neutrality and the termination of military facilities to foreign powers. In this series, Malta is portrayed as an industrial island ready to attract foreign investment. On the front of this series, three themes were selected to showcase the island’s history, culture and justice. The LM10 features the Malta drydocks a staple in the Maltese economy for many years.
