The green buses go further back in time, as our old buses were indeed green
before they became lively yellow. Each one had a different shade of green, depending on exposure to the sweltering heat, and the older the bus, the more faded the green was. This colour was introduced way back in 1975.

The Yellow buses dotted our streets after we went from green to bright yellow,
which included a tasty orange stripe. Each bus driver designed his own cabin
often cramming with religious ornaments and using pin striping to paint his
family names across the buses sides. “Welcome aboard” was also beautifully
added to the entrance.

The ice cream van is the saviour of a hot summer’s day. Each one has its
own musical jungle and this particular truck can be found in Marsascala,
often surrounded by children who spent their last five minutes convincing
